Lifetime Fallback License

When your paid subscription term ends, you retain a lifetime fallback license (also known as a “perpetual fallback license”) for the last version released during that term, whether or not you installed it. That means:

• Continued commercial use: You may keep using that version of Yaak for commercial work indefinitely.
• No updates or support: You will not receive new releases, bug fixes, security patches, or customer support after your paid term ends.
• No feature unlocks: Features introduced after your paid term ends are not included and cannot be accessed without an active subscription.
• Device transfers: You can reinstall and activate the same version on your machines with your existing license key; the fallback license does not cover newer releases.
• Compatibility caveat: Future OS, runtime, or API changes may affect functionality. Without updates, we cannot guarantee compatibility.

How it works

• Canceling renewal does not shorten your paid term; your fallback covers releases through its end.
• To stay on a covered version, set Settings → General → Update Behavior to Manual.
• Reactivating a subscription restores access to the latest version, updates, and support.

FAQs

• Can I upgrade later? Yes. Resubscribe anytime to regain updates, support, and new features.
• Does this include team seats? The fallback applies per seat that was active when the paid term ended. Adding seats or transferring to new users requires an active subscription.
• Is the license perpetual? The right to use your last covered version is perpetual, but it does not include services beyond that version.
• What about plugins or integrations? Integrations relying on third-party changes may break over time. Without updates, we can’t guarantee ongoing compatibility.
